Medical Doctor by profession. Attained MBBS Degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi in 1986 with Gold Medal & distinction in Biochemistry. Remained on the merit list in all four Professional Exams. My professional education has greatly aided me in acquiring a firm grip over the issues of basic health and nutrition faced by Pakistan. The following responsibilities further reinforced my understanding of challenges in health care system, nutrition & food security and provided insight to reform and change in health policy needed.

Associate with organizations working for rights of children, women, transgender, persons with disabilities and brick kiln workers. Submitted following private member bills in Punjab Assembly:
• Violence against Women
• Transgender Rights

Submitted various resolutions pertaining to human rights successfully passed by Punjab Assembly.

Working with various organizations to address micronutrient deficiency through food fortification. Helping create awareness through print media by writing articles related to nutrition.

Represented Pakistan at various national and international forums as a Member of Parliament.

Represented Pakistan in meeting of Regional Parliamentary Working Group on Universal Health Coverage. The group is organised by World Health Organisation where Parliamentarians from 22 countries of Eastern Mediterranean Region have come together to find ways to implement Universal Health Coverage in their countries in Beirut Lebanon.

Represented Pakistan in 139th IPU Assembly Geneva. Delegates from 157 countries across the world participated.
